The ps3 has its own error its just a bit more rare than the red ring of death
its called the red light of death or rlod its a catastrophic hardware error
You cant even get the disk out
this has also happened to me twice
2nd time got the ps3 back in 2 weeks got the game that was in it back 3 months later so we made Sony pay the late fee at blockbuster
