What do you want to see in H:FO?

As the title says; what do you want to see in H:FO? Any suggestions or ideas are always welcome.

Hmm new tech systems and other new game play features are usually what interests me most. Anything that's different from the original tech upgrading/slicing makes a mod a lot more interesting.
Some small events during a GC are also an important feature in my opinion, things like that keep the player playing the mod.
It would be also interesting to know what your "unique economy system" looks like.
A new economy system is something I've been trying to create for some time now, but I'm lacking a good idea  Undecided

We are trying to get the models and textures done, so we can show you how the resource system will work. We have a few different ideas for collecting resources and we are hoping that the demo will have all the different ways so people can pick what they like best after trying the demo.

I dont know if this was ever asked, but will field and navy commanders be included.  Not heroes, I mean the rebuildable ones.

Also It would be cool to have an area with comfirmed units and their statistics so that we can all have a refrance to what is here.  (I have probibly said this before)  Because I want to know if my infantry is armed with MA5Bs Cs or BRs.

personaly I think ODST should have BRs and infantry given ARs with upgrades to Cs

Well I'm trying to get a flash thing together that will show off units and the such but that is still sometime out. Also the field and navy commanders will be included one way or another.

I think they had like a swap weapon ability to deploy rockets or something.  I dont know what you mean by different weapons, can you elaborate?  I still think they should just be equiped with the standard Assault Rifles.

do NOT give each marine instantly a bazooka, make some marines carry it as a main weapon, buildable as a separate squad or included in the platoon (makes more sense)


oh, and once managed to make the paying system of Alamo like C&C, means credit per credit, not all at once being given out... price (end result) was defined by building time then...
but HDD went @!#§$&ß and i forgot how to do that...
would be happy if you have that feature in your mod!

do NOT.............turn this mod into a job? Ive seen so many mods fall becuase the team turned it into a job, not a hobby.

Anyway The tech system sounds nice, but not for an immediate V1 of this thing. Specialized squads for purchase is a........ possible no brainer.

what do you mean specalized squads though.  A basic infantry team equiped only with ARs and rockets is a general all around unit, while ODST are set up for infiltration behind enemy lines or quick reinforcments to move the line forward.
What could happen is having heavy marines or like engineers who are equiped with say the Spartan Laser and mines to really put a dent in the covenant armor.
I do feel however that a spartan laser is something that would rarely be seen on the battle field.  The rockets would be much more cost effective and easier to handle.  Maybe these Engineers have better rockets or the marines only have grenades.  But seeing just how common the rocket launcher is thoughout the games it might be better to have the engineers use a portable missile system rather than the rockets, that way they are effective against both vehicles and low flying aircraft.  Something kinda like the modern day Javilin.
Maybe having a sniper team, which spawns two indavidual sniper teams consisting of two soldiers, they come in both ODST and Marine varients.  One is cheaper, less durable and must be either on ground or dropped off via pelican.  The other is well, an ODST.  Send them in on a landing zone and a pelican dropps them off, not on a drop zone and they "drop" in.

I have all the units sorted out for the UNSC and most of the Covenant ones. I have also planned out most of how combat will perform. Ideas are still helpful.

well ive had some ideas for the covenant ground turret things
anti vehicle-shade turret
anti-infantry-trio of plasma cannons in a triangle each facing different directions used by grunts

oh and i also thought of a different bunker system
On covenant maps there would be gravity platforms which ONLY the covenant could use.
On these covenant maps there would be say crashed vehicles like a crashed pelican or albatross which the marines could fortify a little to make them into bunkers

On UNSC maps there would be generic cement bunkers which the covenant could'nt use
On UNSC maps for the covenant they could perhaps have a gravity platform brought in by a phantom or spirit,this could be available in multiple places on the map marked by a little purple platform

so opinions?

I had an idea.  Regardless of whether there are flying transports or not, it would be cool if certain squads, like say, Hero Units or Spartan squads, had an "Rapid Exfiltration" ability.  Essentially the reverse of the standard unit drop offs, these squads could call in a Pelican and after a short time, say 15 to 20 seconds, could get airlifted out.  This would give players an chance to save expensive or valuable squads.  Squads would then return to the Reinforcement Menu-thing, and could be redeployed later.

I don't know if EaW mechanics will allow this though.

That would actualy be very useful as it would allow the player that has space superiority to have a better tactical advantage.  And allow you to remove unneeded units from battle should you find that you no longer need that hero unit or that anti armor team when all their tanks are dead.  Provided it was avalible to all units not just heroes.
